Part of my weekend adventure at Garner State Park include a journey to the Crystal Cave. As we walked a good 30mins. to begin point of the hike up a large hill our dog was already exhausted. Slowly we started the climb after frequent stops we reached the top to view a hill in the distance called Old Balding. You can see in the photo the power of river and once a ocean current that curved into this large hill.
At the top of hill we were climbing we had to carry our dog over the painted rocks that depending on the light of day appear to change colors. We continued the hike down to the Crystal Cave. Like a huge hole in the side of hill it formed quarts crystal on its roof. The formation of the cave reminds me of huge geo. I was not impressed but enjoyed the coolness. After a spot of lunch we enjoyed the help of gravity on the way down.
